My travel plans for 2013!!

After all the travelling I’ve done last year and earlier this year, to be perfectly honest, I’m actually kind of excited to be back home in Canada! Am I excited to go back to Europe? Hell yea, but there’s just something wonderful about being able to speak in English all the time that makes me really love….english speaking countries.

That being said, while I’m enjoying my time back home, after two months here, I’m ready to go out back into the world again! So what are my plans for the rest of 2013?

August

In about a week, I’m heading to New York City, and then Boston to visit some friends there. The last time I was in New York (and in the States for that matter), was 3 years ago, and Boston 4 years ago, so it’s pretty exciting to finally visit the US again!

And of course, I can’t forget about my (generally) annual trip to Montreal to visit friends there. Considering how I got tickets for just $12 one way, it’s too tempting to pass on!

Because of grad school, next summer I might possibly be back in Canada from August to September, but I’m also looking into scoring an internship in Europe during the summer, with the added bonus of watching the World Cup (woo hoo!!) in a continent where there’s going to be massive partying everywhere.

So at the possibly of not being back in North America for maybe up to two years, it’s nice to squeeze in a trip to all my favourite North American cities this summer!

September

Grad school starts in October, but the boyfriend will be studying in Amsterdam for the semester, so I’ll be joining him there for two weeks! The last time I was in Amsterdam, I was only there for a weekend, so two weeks time will be plenty to get to know the city better outside those smokey cafes if you know what I mean…

October

In October, it’s back to Germany for grad school! I’m so stoked to be back in school. I’m actually pretty amazed that (as of today!) I’ve gotten acceptances from all of my first choice universities, especially considering how some only accept 20 applicants. But the same time, it does make deciding which university to go to pretty difficult!

While I’ve pretty much 80% decided on where I’ll be going, I decided I’ll keep it a secret for now, until I’m 100% positive. I will give a hint though! It’s located in the biggest state in Germany (yes the one that’s home to lederhosen, sausages, and every German stereotype you can think of!)

I’m trying to make this a very ambitious fall semester because on top of everything, I’m going to work on my book, because goddammit, instead of fantasying about becoming a published writer, I have to go and just do it.

December

I’m not exactly sure where I’m planning on going in December, but I’ll definitely be doing at least one trip during Christmas vacation. I’ll probably be living somewhat close to Vienna and Prague, so those are options. I really do want to go somewhere more exotic too, so Morocco and India are at the top of my list!

And for that NYE party! 2013 will no doubt end in style! πŸ˜‰
