A Traveller’s Christmas Wish List

With Christmas around the corner, I thought I’d make a list of some fun gift ideas for travellers. One of my favourite things about December is Christmas shopping for friends and family (I’ve been told that I’m great with picking out gifts) and in between all the crazy amounts of essays and presentations I have this semester, this year is no exception. If you guys are looking for some last-minute gift ideas, here’s some ideas that will fit budgets both small and large!

1. A World Map Necklace via Seattle Travel Shop – $19 USD
I remember seeing someone with a world map tattoo once and loved how it looks. At the same time, I don’t think I could ever commit to such a big tattoo on my back. I love this necklace because you can carry the world with you wherever you go…without the commitment. Lovers wear their hearts on their sleeve, travellers wear the world around their neck!

2. World Scratch Map via Uncommon Goods – $20 USD
I bought one of these last year, and with all my travelling around Europe, it’s been really fun scratching off countries that I’ve visited. It’s a really pretty but simple design that looks great anywhere! I have mine hung up on the wall above my work desk and every once in a while I’d look at it and daydream about all the countries I still have to visit…

3. Stella McCartney Falabella Clutch via Net-a-Porter – 565 euros
This Stella McCartney clutch is a bit pricey but I really love it. It’s made of eco-friendly vegan leather so you can feel great about the fact that no animals were harmed in the making of this bag. What I love is that it’s simple and elegant…it’s light enough as a day bag, but the gold chains also make it perfect as a clutch for a night out. I also like using bags without logos when I’m travelling to prevent pickpockets.

Rebecca Minkoff Mini Wallet on a Chain via Amazon – $104 USD
For a cheaper alternative, I love this Rebecca Minkoff mini WOC. It’s pretty but discrete – great for holding all your essentials when you’re out exploring a city and transitions well for a night out!

4. Nike Free shoes via Zappos – $85 – 110 USD
These are by far the best running shoes I own. They’re great for those travellers who spend the entire day exploring because they feel like you’re walking on clouds! I’ve gone on hour long runs in them and they’ve always kept my feet comfortable. (I can’t say that about my other shoes!)

5. Paris journal via Ecojot – $14 CAD
Most travellers love keeping a journal and I’m no exception. I’m also a sucker for a pretty journal so I probably have more journals at home than I will ever use. I bought this one during the summer and it’s my favourite so far. It’s such a pretty cover and love that Ecojot is committed to eco-friendly business practices and all the journals are made in Canada.

6. Travel Calendar via Rifle Paper Co – $26 USD
As travellers, we’re always planning and marking down dates for trips, which is why a calendar is always handy. Rifle Paper Co is another company with eco-friendly business practices and all their products are made in the US. I love their whimsical prints so much!!

Have you guys started your Christmas shopping? What’s on your Christmas wish list this year?

Ha, how ironic to get your new post as I was thinking of you last night when I put up a foodie post from Seattle! There will be more of the same from that trip as well :) What a great list of items and I especially like the World Scratch Map, Michelle! Let’s see, I have 3 I could cross off lol. I did purchase some travel stuff. New luggage, Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones and now I’m looking for a universal outlet adapter. I hope all is well with you and it’s always great to hear from you!! :)

The scratch map is great 😀 I hope you’ll get one for Christmas :) It’s so fine scratching off countries after going to them and seeing your travels expand. I’ve heard great things about the Bose headphones! I was thinking of getting one last year but ended up buying some Frends headphones because they’re too pretty to resist haha!
